He was offered a job in public procurement on his way to Spain, from where Michal Garaj focused on competition for the Slovak Public Procurement Office (PPO). He succeeded in this area and began to address objections in review procedures. Later he was called to the Council of the PPO, where he helped with second level decision-making. After six and a half years he was "transferred" to the team of the Mayor of Bratislava, Matúš Vallo. Since earlier this year he has headed the Public Procurement Department, where he strives to get the highest added value possible.
Currently holds the position of Head of the Public Procurement Department at the Technical Administration of Communications of the Capital City of Prague. He is the Head of the Public Procurement Department of the City of Prague. He is a qualified lawyer specialized in public procurement with experience in legislation and methodology at the Ministry of Regional Development, where he dealt with central procurement, ICT procurement and at the Ministry of Agriculture, where he was responsible for construction contracts, technology, framework agreements and DNS. He is an enthusiastic lecturer in public procurement. He has initiated pre-market consultations, promoted responsible procurement, been inspired by several working visits to the UK, and completed the Public Procurement Excellence course. He has been a member of several government working groups on public procurement. He's a keen innovator.
